About Us
Your Child Is in Great Hands
Our History
Our program, which started in 1972, transitioned from the St. Albans Parish, our founder, into a beautiful new space formerly used by St. Ann's Academy in August 2016. While we will miss the beautiful grounds of the Washington National Cathedral , we cheerfully embrace our lovely new space conveniently located a mile away in the Tenleytown area. Our new space allowed us to combine our Cathedral and Embassy campuses, providing us an opportunity to include infants and toddlers for the first time.
Our Mission
St. Albans Early Childhood Center’s (SAECC) mission is to provide high quality educational services using a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum for a multi-economic and culturally diverse group of young children.
Accreditation
SAECC is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All aspects of our program are based on the industry’s best practices, NAEYC’s recommended guidelines, and the Department of Health’s licensing standards. The National Association for the Education of Young Children is a large nonprofit association focused on promoting high-quality learning of young children, with emphasis on children from birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood education practice, policy and research.
